The 2011 Shanghai Rugby Sevens concluded on Sunday and saw the China teams perform exceptionally well, with the women’s team winning the tournament and the men’s team winning the Plate Cup. The China men’s team won all its matches but one against South Korea, who went on to win this year’s tournament.
The Shanghai Sevens tournament is the leading and growing rugby competition in China. With the sport gaining traction in the country and the tournament starting to make a name for itself, the 2-day sporting event drew an even bigger crowd than it did last year and offered a great platform for Societe Generale to showcase its commitment to supporting rugby in Asia at the Yuanshen stadium.
